Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an attempt to return to the traditional sextet style and a more consistent, stronger effort with a harder edge. Its more punk-rock sound was a reflection of the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's improved virtuosity on drums, and a more mature, confident vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex, and less derivative on previous efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live concert in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
