Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

In order to upgrade an item of armor, the user must choose it and click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance adding the suffix Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of those items, instead of spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will allow the Best item upgrade to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it is able to gain affixes which will enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base type. For example, a rare or unique weapon with a base that is normal will have no more than two affixes to choose from, whereas a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item fails to reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with another set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material however it will result in less chance of success.

Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as the benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that the buildings are constructed with a high degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important part of the game, and it can increase the damage, strength or other attributes. You can do this via the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an Best item upgrade. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added into the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the better chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a specific character without spending lots of money.

Many players opt to reroll their gear and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can help you create a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can be of different dimensions, have none of the elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense values or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not improve the stats of the item when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you have many weapons or armor pieces already.

Certain set items are upgraded for their unique procs which can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade item certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their levels. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, armor and weapons have higher value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will provide a significant increase in their performance. It will also boost the defense value of armor with a newer appearance.
